Over 91 people die every day from an opioid overdose, with almost half of these deaths involving a prescription opioid. Camden County overdose fatalities increased 370% from 2010 to 2018. Camden City was the highest municipality with 35% of fatalities in the county. CORI was established in response to the growing opioid crisis within Camden. DNA methylation has been shown to change with opioid use/addiction. CpG sites can be isolated to locate genes associated with opioid addiction susceptibility
