Biology major Shariq Khan, Class of 2021, wants to specialize in neuroscience. His goal is to become a physician-scientist, so he can help patients face-to-face while also working in a lab to discover improvements for the future of health care.
Shariq is one of the first four students selected for the NIH-funded MARC program at Rutgers University–Camden. This new program, “Maximizing Access to Research Careers – Undergraduate Student Training for Academic Research,” prepares biology students from underrepresented backgrounds for careers in the biomedical sciences.
