As a freshman, I quickly found Rutgers to be a fertile ground of high-caliber biology faculty who simultaneously make advances in their respective fields and take great pains to involve undergraduates in their labs.

Rebecca Bacheler, a Rutgers–Camden graduate student pursuing her master’s degree in biology, is looking at fungi that penetrate plant roots to help their host plants obtain more water and nutrients they otherwise cannot access.

My research focuses on screening DNA fragments that guide gene expression.
