Introduction
Epilepsy is a common convulsive disease that many worldwide suffer from. Due to this, it is important that we find ways to be able to help prevent this, and to do so, we must understand what triggers these seizures. There is much correlation between chronic pain and nonepileptic seizures.
Purpose: To validate if there is any correlation between chronic pain and nonepileptic seizures by inducing nerve injury onto animal models, Drosophila melanogaster.Research Question: How does neuropathic chronic pain affect the susceptibility of seizures in pro-convulsiveDrosophila melanogaster?Hypothesis: Drosophila with nerve injury will have a higher duration of seizures.
